Contemporary Portuguese animated films

Casa da Animação (CDA) is a cultural centre particularly dedicated to animation, founded in 1999 and located in Porto. The main purposes are the diffusion and promotion of animation films, through several activities - screenings, exhibitions, conferences, masters, educational area and documentation.
In 2013 Casa da Animação created the Prémio Nacional da Animação (National Animation Award) as a way to acknowledge and celebrate the talent of Portuguese animation filmmakers. The award will be granted every year to the best Professional Film and the best Graduation Film.


In programme one, “Professionals Category”, a short list of six films selected from among 26 candidates will be shown. In programme two, “Schools Category – Graduation Films”, a short list of six film selected from among 42 candidates will be shown.
