A journey into a highly creative realm: We will visit the game studio Fizbin and the Film and Television Lab (Film- und Fernseh-Labor, FFL) in Ludwigsburg.

Studio Fizbin
is an independent game studio in Ludwigsburg which was founded in 2011 by Sebastian Mittag, Alexander Pieper and Mareike Ottrand. The emphasis lies on games and apps with a storyline focus, with captivating, original characters, and fantastical worlds and stories. At the same time, in 2011 the development of the first large game project “The Inner World” began. On 18 July 2013, the debut game was available for PC and Mac and garnered rave reviews. Gamers and the industry press praised the dense atmosphere of the bizarre world, the intelligent puzzles, and the layered humor. The iOS version appeared on the market in November 2013 and rose directly to the top of the app games chart. Since December 2013, the animation specialists at Fizbin have been working on their newest game project based on the thoughts of the famous H.P. Lovecraft.

The FFL specializes in fiction. It was founded in 2009 by Matthias Drescher and Philipp Knauss in Ludwigsburg. Currently, the FFL associates are researching and developing film material for diverse genres, including two animated projects: the 2.5D animated series for children “The Inner World” together with Studio Fizbin, and the feature film “The Journey of the Elephant Soliman.” The FFL productions “Shifting the Blame” and E.T.A. Hoffman’s “The Sandman” were completed in 2012 and have since received numerous awards at national and international festivals. Besides Drescher and Knauss, Franziska Specht, Andrea Steiner, Juliette Alfonsi, and Grischa Sautter give their creative input. One focus of FFL is the cooperation with animated and game companies such as the current cooperation with Studio88 and Studio Fizbin.
