Thomas Borch Nielsen: How to sell your idea!

(The fine art of pitching)

Sprache: englisch
You can have the best idea in the world for a movie, but it will never get made if you cannot present it in the right way to the right people. Learn how to master ”the elevator pitch”, ”the cocktail pitch” and even ”the executive cigar pitch”. Convince investors to read your script and finance your project. Pitch to actors and creative staff to join your team. Use the pitch during production as the creative tool to keep your story on the right track. Pitch your finished movie to the press and at festivals. And when you are old and grey, pitch it again and again for your grandchildren... Thomas Borch Nielsen wrote, directed - and pitched - the animated movie ”Sunshine Barry & The Disco Worms”. Right now he is producing the animated movie ”Carlo's Casino” at the Copenhagen based animation studio Nice Ninja (which he owns by the way). If you squeeze him a little bit he will also talk about using the pitch as a story structure tool.

Eckart Fingberg: Was wäre wenn? Ein animierter Charakter erwacht zum Leben

Von der Idee bis zur Produktion
Sprache: deutsch

Joanna Quinn and Les Mills: Script to Screen Workshop

Sprache: englisch
Animator Joanna Quinn and script writer Les Mills will be giving an inside peek into how they work together as a team and show the painful, obsessive process of getting from script to screen. The workshop will explore the process of developing Personal Narratives, from the initial descriptive explorations of personal experiences, through to the marriage of text and image, using animation’s ability to distort, subvert, exaggerate and alter audience perception. The audience will be invited to write a short piece of descriptive prose based on a theme, given out at registration. There is also the promise of lightening sketches from Joanna to bring some of these ideas to life.
