Meeting point: Infothek in the Gloria- Passage, Sat, 7.5. / 2:15 PM

This year, the workshop discussion takes us to the Ludwigsburg-based companies, Studio Soi and Polynoid:

Studio Soi is one of the leading European production companies in the field of character animation. In recent years the company’s activities have been focussed on producing films, TV series and commercials for the English-speaking market. "The Gruffalo’s Child" will premiere on a BBC channel at Christmas 2011. Depending on the project in hand, Studio Soi uses every animation technique imaginable, such as computer animation, cartoon animation, stop-motion, mixed media and live action and can thus provide customised solutions for a whole range of very different tasks.

Polynoid is a director collective and animation studio located in Ludwigsburg. The studio has been working on short films and commercial productions since 2006. The Polynoid team produced several short international award-winning films whilst studying together at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Film Academy and its five members founded their studio in Ludwigsburg in 2010. The workshop discussion provides, amongst other things, an insight into the development and creation of Polynoid’s latest short film "Loom".
