This year for the first time the Festival of Animated Film presented the Speaker Award for the Best Voice Actor in an animated feature film with a cash prize worth 2,500 Euros.

Winner is the actor BENNO FÜRMANN (“North Wall”) for the German dubbed voice of “Puss-in-Boots” (original voice: Antonio Banderas) in the blockbuster sequels “Shrek 2” (2004) and “Shrek the Third” (2007).

The other nominees were the popular actors Bettina Zimmermann (“Die Jagd nach dem Schatz der Nibelungen” – The Hunt for the Nibelungen Treasure) , Christoph Maria Herbst (“Stromberg”) and Bastian Pastewka (“Neues vom Wixxer” – the Wexxer).

The Benno Führmann was presented to receive the award in person on Sunday, May 10 at the award ceremony. This was held at the closing gala at the Gloria 1 cinema in Stuttgart.
