A host of awards and streams of visitors to the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart – 1,500 accredited professional visitors, more than 600 films and sold-out theatres - the 17th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) was a great success for its organisers. Despite, or perhaps even because of the cold, wet weather the box offices registered an increase in ticket sales of about 20%. After six eventful days, the ITFS 2010 ended on Sunday evening, May 09 after the "Trickstar" had been presented in seven categories. Guests, filmmakers and organisers ended the Festival with a celebratory gala.

Animation visits Stuttgart
Stuttgart – Today the 17th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film opened its doors. That means six exciting days full of animation with hot topics, colourful worlds and strange figures. The crème de la crème of the international animated film industry were all present at the opening gala which was held at the city’s largest cinema and completely sold-out. Public interest is huge and as a result many of the other events such as the world premiere of "The Sandman – Adventure in the Land of Dreams", the big Äffle & Pferdle Birthday Gala and the five International Competition programmes are almost sold-out too.

South Africa at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film
Stuttgart - Everyone is talking about South Africa; above all because it is the location for the World Cup 2010. Yet the country has a lot to offer with regard to film, too. This year the 17th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (May 04 – May 09) will be showing "Animated Africa" at the Caligari, the Festival’s cinema in Ludwigsburg. The programme will include a whole range of animated films from South Africa, the World Cup’s host. In addition to a selection of short films – including work by the well-known artist and animator William Kentridge – "Tengers", the first South African feature-length animated film, is also coming to Germany.

The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film celebrates animated film
Stuttgart – Yet again the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (May 04 – May 09) has a wealth of reasons for young and old to celebrate. The much-loved Sandman is celebrating his world premiere, the Moomins their comeback in 3D, the Simpsons the Superbowl and the anti-globalisation animated film “Logorama” its Oscar. The ITFS and its enthusiastic Stuttgart audience, the FMX 2010 which takes place at the same time as the Festival and the Animation Production Day 2010 (APD) will again attract the international animated film industry to Stuttgart.

Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film looks back on excellent films and prominent guests
The red carpet for animation!
Stuttgart – The 16th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film effortlessly managed the balancing act between the demands of the industry and the public’s wishes. The ITFS, the fmx/09 and the Animation Production Day 2009 all took place simultaneously so that representatives from the industry certainly got their money’s worth. Thanks to the fans, the theatres were sold out and the open air screenings were well visited despite some rain. After six eventful days, the ITFS09 ended on Sunday evening, May 10 with the TRICKSTAR award ceremony for eight categories.
