Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe
The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film and the Robert Bosch Foundation have been successfully holding the Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe since 2008. The next Animation Coproduction Forum will take place on a larger scale from May 04 – May 06, 2010.
For several years now the Robert Bosch Foundation has been supporting coproductions and intercultural exchange between German, Eastern European and Southern Eastern European animators. The Coproduction Award for Animated Film, with a cash prize worth up to 70,000 €, is a central element of these efforts.
The Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe is an important platform for young directors and producers from Germany, Eastern and Southern Eastern Europe who are interested in joining international animation projects and who would like to enter these into the competition for the coproduction award presented by the Robert Bosch Foundation. The forum is directed at both animation filmmakers who are looking for a producer or coproducer and producers who are interested in producing or coproducing an animated film project.
Animated Filmmakers can enter an animation project which has not yet been realised. Interested parties should provide a two-page project outline in English, initial visuals and a selection of older films on DVD.
Producers can apply to participate by providing a one-page covering letter in English, a selection of older films on DVD and a detailed filmography and biography. As the forum is directed at young filmmakers, applicants must not be older than 35 years old. The closing date for entries is March 26, 2010.
The organisers then select projects and producers from amongst the applications. The projects are then pitched to the participating producers and filmmakers. Thus the forum provides a unique opportunity to meet and win over production partners. A prominent jury will then select a winning project from amongst those presented. The participants at the forum are invited to the ITFS for the duration of the Animation Coproduction Forum. The invitation includes 3 nights in a hotel as well as the cost of the outward and return journey.
With over 1,500 international professional visitors and 50,000 audience members, the ITFS is one of the world’s largest animation events and a unique platform for exchanging views and networking.
