Paul Bush

Paul Bush was born in 1956 in London and studied fine art at Goldsmiths College. He became involved in the London "Film-makers" Cooperative in the 1980s and there after has been producing experimental films. His films cross the boundaries between documentary, fiction and animation and have been shown in art galleries and as installations as well as conventional cinemas. He has won numerous awards and his work is owned in public collections all over the world. In the 1990’s much of his work was co-commissioned by channel 4 and the arts council. In 2001 he received a nesta fellowship. Since then he has mainly subsidised his work by teaching - at the national film and television school in the uK, Luzern University and Centro Sperimentali di Cinematografia in Italy.

Fadi Abdelnour

Born in 1978 in Jerusalem, Fadi Abdelnour first studied archaeology, linguistics, and cultural studies and graduated from the communication design program at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. He is interested and active in many different cultures and is the co-founder and artistic director of ALFILM – the Arab Film Festival Berlin. He lives and works as a freelance graphic designer in Berlin and Ramallah.

Mariola Brillowska

Mariola Brillowska, born in 1961 in sopot/danzig, studied at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg from 1984 to 1991. Since 1988 she has produced and directed animated films; anarchist performances and theater shows are also included in her repertoire. Her film “Grabowski, Haus des Lebens” (Grabowski, House of Life) received the Grand Prix at the Short Film Festival Oberhausen in 1991. From 2005 to 2013, she was professor for drawing and illustration at Offenbach University of Art and Design. She participates in numerous international exhibitions and retrospectives of her work as well as exhibitions of her cinematic work continually take place, for example in new york, Warsaw, and Beijing.

Tsvika Oren

Tsvika Oren was born in Tel Aviv, he studied agriculture, education, economics
and graphic design in Israel, animation, photography and print making in Holland. “Thready Games” (Ottawa 1976) was his first film in a festival, followed by many other personal and commercial films. He worked as a journalist, film critic, festivals’ adviser, curator and director, established the first Israeli animation association, the creative Filmmaking Festival and the Animation Center, Tel Aviv. Tsvika gave lectures and workshops around the world and served on the jury in many international festivals. Since 1977, he is also teaching animation, currently at "Minshar for Art", Tel Aviv. He serves on ASIFA International Board of Directors and is an amateur gardener.

Rao Heidmets

Rao Heidmets was born in 1956 in Pärnu, Estonia. From 1975 to 1981, he studied at the Tallinn Technical University, Faculty of Electro-Energetics, and graduated as engineer of electric networks and systems. After finishing university in 1982, he changed career and went to the „Tallinnfilm” studios to make animated films. At first as animator and from 1983 as film director. His films have won a lot of prizes, among them the SWR audience award of the ITFS 2004 for „Instinct” and in 2009 the Grand Prix at the Ottowa International Animation Festival for „Inherent Obligations“. In 1991 he established his own studio “Rao Heidmets Filmstudio”. He has also run several workshops for students and children throughout the world.
