The ITFS presents its new online format 2020

Due to the spreading of the corona virus, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is not able to take place this year in the cinemas, on the Schlossplatz and in numerous other cultural venues as usual. But festival fans don’t have to dispense with the many artistic animated films and the GameZone!

From May 5 to 10, we will show a special ITFS programme: OnlineFestival.ITFS.de

A completely new version of ITFS is planned, which will raise a digital festival feeling. For this purpose we will set up a free and chargeable section.

  • OnlineFestival Stream – the German-English Animation Channel for Stuttgart and the World – only from May 5-10, 2020!
    The livestream is freely accessible – a digital festival Schlossplatz! Interviews, moderationss, live panels, short films as well as the award ceremony of various competitions on Sunday evening alternate daily. Parts of the festival programme, such as the curated programme Animated Music Video, are also available on the site as a playlist. Further editorial contributions in text form such as comments and guest contributions complete the free area.

  • The free GameZone presents selected games, digital educational games, universities, games studios and the nominees of the Animated Games Awards 2020. Workshops and lectures are also available in the livestream.
  • OnlineFestival+ is the fee-based film area for streaming selected films and competition entries from the ITFS; these include short films from the International Competition, the student film competition Young Animation, Tricks for Kids, Trickstar Nature and selected feature films from the AniMovie competition. After registration, the short and feature films will be available from May 5 to 10. Additional video messages and explanations of the films are provided by the filmmakers. In addition, the complete 2020 competition programme will be shown again in top quality and on a big screen in the Innenstadtkinos at ITFS 2021 (May 4 to 9)!

Exclusivity: OnlineFestival+ can only be experienced in the period from 5 to 10 May!

  • OnlineFestival Pro is the section for all professionals. In addition to the OnlineFestival+, access to the Animated Video Market, the film platform on which all competition entries submitted by the ITFS can be seen, is also possible here. Furthermore, OnlineFestival Pro is supplemented with special panels and information for industry participants.
