Faith, Love, Hope – A Virtual Video Exhibition

Mon, May 03 – Sun,May 16

With #OpertrotzCorona (#OperadespiteCorona), the Staatsoper Stuttgart has repeatedly succeeded in offering its audience special virtual experiences since spring 2020. This is also the case with the project that can be seen free of charge in the GameZone at the ITFS OnlineFestival: Both Robert Schumann’s “Scenes from Goethe’s Faust” and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” cannot currently be experienced on stage under the given circumstances. Director Marco Štorman, conductor André de Ridder and their entire team have nevertheless dealt with contents and contexts, with Faust, Judas and Jesus, Gretchen and Mary and – last, not least – Mephistopheles. The musical and cinematic results of this exploration can be seen in the virtual exhibition “Faith, Love, Hope”. Eight stations from heaven through the world to hell. The creative and art directors Maximilan Heitsch and Demian Wohler of Moby Digg, who are responsible for the animation, will also give an insight into the production process of the experience in a making of lecture on ONLINE PRO.
