Cult night: Animation of the Extreme

In public perception, animated film stands for nice children’s films, squeaky cartoons or tender personal reflections and introspections. But animation can be different! Animation has always been a medium of extremes and transgression. The infinite creative positions and unlimited options of the computer make it possible to dispense with naturalism, classical narration, and conventional semantics. „Animation of the Extreme“ shows films that are excessive, exuberant, disturbing, logic-free, and radical. Sexuality and simulation, mythopoeia, and artistic data shredding – the programme offers films that brush animation against the grain and like to overshoot the mark (of good taste), such as ‘Fruit’ by Ivan Li or ‘Softy Face’ by Mariana Peralta and Omar González. „Animation of the Extreme“ is a journey into the abysses of animation and human or animal existence.
