The programmes present films that couldn’t do without AI processing, that deal with the issue of artificial intelligence or that have been produced by AI. Human creativity meets artificial creativity – a creative dialogue begins, and new hybrid art forms emerge: Sensors draw pictures for us, bots tell us stories. We see and understand and yet these are new worlds and perspectives, detached from familiar viewing habits. Our perception itself is becoming hybrid.
But is all the glitter also art? And whose mark do we recognise in it? And where does human judgement possibly reach its limits when AI is involved?
The programmes aim to raise awareness of the creative potential of artificial processes and to critically examine the legitimacy of AI processes as creators of art and of human standards of evaluation.
Finally, the programmes raise questions about copyright, participation in the creative process and the definition of art itself.
