The Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, founded in Rome in 1935, has two branches: The National Film School and the National Film Library. The 3-year animation school, set up in 2001 in Turin, is an important reference point in Italy for the young who see animation as their mean of artistic expression and their professional future. The school aims to nurture their talent as well as to train artists with an understanding of the entire process of creating and producing animation, equipped with basic skills in the main areas of production. A strong emphasis is placed on team-working and on animation, beyond its delimitation as a genre, as a means of expression, communication, experimentation.
