The ITFS presents its new online format 2020

Due to the spreading of the corona virus, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is not able to take place this year in the cinemas, on the Schlossplatz and in numerous other cultural venues as usual. But festival fans don’t have to dispense with the many artistic animated films and the GameZone!

From May 5 to 10, we will show a special ITFS programme:

A completely new version of ITFS is planned, which will raise a digital festival feeling. For this purpose we will set up a free and chargeable section.

  • The freely accessible site will offer statements by filmmakers and interviews that provide information about the current situation and the festival. Parts of the festival programme, such as the curated programme Animated Music Video, will be available as playlists. Every day during the OnlineFestival we will present outstanding animated short films. And even events and panels are to take place online – as livestreams and video conferences.
  • In cooperation with our partner MyAnimation.TV there will be a children’s programme as well as digital workshops on how children can produce their own animated films at home. The GameZone presents selected games, digital educational games and the nominees of the Animated Games Award 2020. To ensure that the festival remains Swabian despite its online location, comedian Dodokay is also involved in the OnlineFestival.
  • The fee-based section is intended to provide full access to the film programme: A selection of short films from the International Competition, Young Animation, Tricks for Kids, Trickstar Nature and selected feature films from the AniMovie Competition are available here. The complete 2020 competition programme will also be shown again in top quality in the city centre cinemas at ITFS 2021 (May 4-9) and will be awarded by the international expert juries.

We will gladly keep you informed about the dynamic developments of
