Children’s Animated Film Academy

In 2021, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film was again held exclusively online. Nevertheless, there were various opportunities for our young animation fans to participate. Here you can see the result film of the Children’s Animation Academy: “Stuttgart is looking for the super monster”.

The Children’s Animation Academy took place in five consecutive live webinars via Zoom. A total of eight participants between the ages of 11 and 15 created a puppet animation film. They were accompanied by professionals from the various branches of animation film production: Tine Kluth, Thorsten Puttenat, Francesco Farrana and Derek Roczen.

They taught the participants everything they need to know for the production of an animated film: the development of characters that were drawn and elaborately made, the creation and dubbing of stop motion shots, visual effects for the final touch and the joining of the individual shots into an overall film.
