Welcome to the 24th International Festival of Animated Film!

With more than 200 events the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) offers an enormous amount of interesting and important programs for you as an industry professional. Together with our cooperation partners, we offer you a unique platform: at the same time as ITFS, the leading industry events Animation Production Day, FMX – International Conference on Animation, Effects, VR, Games and Transmedia and spotlight – Festival für Bewegtbildkommunikation take place. Take advantage of all benefits of an ITFS accreditation for professionals and be part of it when Stuttgart becomes the center for animation, visual effects, virtual reality and moving image communication from May 2 to 7, 2017.

THE ADVANTAGES OF AN ITFS ACCREDITATION FOR INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

  • On six days, you have free access to all ITFS events*, in particular to the highly popular festival opening and awards ceremonies (such as the Trickstar Business Award, the spotlight-Festival & Animated Com Award, the presentation of the German Voice Actor Award and Animation Screenplay Award, and the closing Awards Ceremony of ITFS).
  • At the Alte Reithalle at Hotel Maritim, the presentation of the “Animated Com Award” will, for the first time, take place together with the awards
ceremony of the “spotlight – festival for moving pictures communication”. This is where members of the animation industry meet agency representatives, commercial filmmakers, film producers and clients. There are numerous further opportunities for networking, with platforms such as the spotlight FORUM at Literaturhaus, or the audience votes in the festival cinemas.
  • Visit the Animation Production Day (APD), the major co-production and financingmarket in Germany focused exclusively on animation. Use your accreditation for free access to the public APD conference, where high profile speakers provide insights into current industry trends and challenges in fields such as virtual reality or project financing.
  • Be there when innovative business models for animation, games and transmedia are honoured with the new “Trickstar Business Award”. The
award gala takes place together with the presentation of the “German Animation Screenplay Award” and the “Tricks for Kids Series Award” at the L-Bank Rotunda.
  • In addition to free ITFS access, purchasers of a Combi-Ticket only pay a reduced entrance fee to the FMX – International Conference on Animation, Effects, VR, Games and Transmedia at the Haus der Wirtschaft. At this expert conference, creative minds from all over the world provide insight into their work and present the latest trends in the fields of visual effects, design, technologies, and business.
  • The “Games” section has developed further. Interlinked with animation, it will this year be located at the Stuttgart Kunstgebäude with an area
of almost 2,000 sqm. This year’s GameZone with the focus topic “Playful Art / Meaningful Games” presents developments in the games field
over the next two years, introduces trend-setting university projects, shows the latest links between virtual and augmented reality, and invites visitors to join in and play there and then. In addition there will be the award ceremony of the prize “Animated Games Award Germany”
  • In the “In Persona” series of programs, representatives of the international animation industry present their most important works: Bruno Bozzetto (Bergamo), Katrin Magnitz (Hamburg), Joanna Priestley (Portland), Ann Marie Fleming (Toronto), and many more!
  • Some of the world’s leading animation studios provide background information of their work based on selected projects, while encouraging exchange. The studios include: Google Spotlight Stories, Lupus Films, Studio AKA, M.A.R.K.13, Bonobostudio, and Neuer Österreichischer Trickfilm.
  • Full flexibility: as a professional visitor, you can view all competition entries independent of the cinema screenings at the Animated Video Market (at Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart, the public library of the city of Stuttgart).
* For special events, additional registration at the accreditation counter on-site is required, and it is necessary to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of an event.
