Animated Games Award Germany

In 2018 the Animated Games Award Germany goes into the second round. Introduced in 2016 as an regional award, now for the second time the prize is awarded to the German computer game which stands out from competition by its special visual design and aesthetics. The jury pays particular attention to artwork, imagery, and character design.

The award’s objective is to strengthen the interlinking of games and animated film as regards content, as well as promote the artistic quality of games.

The award is donated by the MFG Baden-Württemberg

Animation Comedy – Presentation of the german Voice Actor Award

The German Voice Actor award celebrates its 10th edition! After four successful runs of Animation Comedy, we return to the Renitenztheater for a fifth time. German actor, author and cabaret artist Bernd Kohlhepp and comedian Dodokay are  hosting  the show again together.In the context of Animation Comedy, the German Voice Actor Award is presented to recognize the work of German voice actors  in animated film productions. The prize has been awarded to Benno Fürmann, Oliver Kalkofe, Christoph Maria Herbst, Andrea Sawatzki, Rick Kavanian, Josefine Preuß, Ralf Schmitz, Kostja Ullmann and in 2017 to Alexandra Maria Lara. In 2018 the nominees are: Heino Ferch for his role as Ernesto de la Cruz in “Coco – Lebendiger als das Leben!“, Martina Hill for the role of Lucy Wild in „Ich – Einfach unverbesserlich 3“ and Axel Prahl for his part as Pirate Old Bill in „Käpt’n Sharky. The nominees are present. Furthermore German cartoonist Joscha Sauer presents the world premiere of the new episode of his  animated series  NICHTLUSTIG and Jochen Kuhn introduces with “Painting in Motion” the brand new English version of his short film œuvre.

Award Ceremony Tricks for Kids

For the first time this year, the Tricks for Kids short film competition in cooperation with Studio 100 has its own, very special award ceremony. Our children’s jury presents the winning film along with a great surprise programme which includes the screening of the four favourite films of the children’s jury.
