Artistic animation and the promotion of up and coming talent make up the core of the ITFS. The various competition categories award cash prizes totalling more than 50,000 euros.

Lotte Reiniger Promotion Award for Animated Film

Award for the best graduation film by a film student with a cash prize of 10,000 euros. Sponsored by MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg.

SWR Audience Award

6,000 euros in prize money.

German Animation Screenplay Award
