Artistic animation and the promotion of up and coming talent make up the core of the ITFS. The various competition categories award cash prizes totalling more than 50,000 euros.

Lotte Reiniger Promotion Award for Animated Film

Award for the best graduation film with a cash prize of 10,000 euros. Sponsored by MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg.

SWR Audience Award

Award for advertising, technology and communication in the area of commissioned animation work, top prize of 2.500 euros sposnored by the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart. Special awards by Daimler AG and U. I. Lapp GmbH, each in the amount of 2.500 euros.

Young Animation

The award for the best student film is accompanied by 2,500 euros in prize money and is sponsored by Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg and MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg.

The FANtastic Award with a cash prize of 1.000 euros. Prize for the best animation talent – donated by the Animation Family, the most faithful fans of ITFS.

The award for the best children’s animated film totals 4,000 euros and is sponsored by Studio 100 Media GmbH. The winner is selected by a jury of children.

Crazy Horse Session – The 48H Animation Jam

Submission Deadline: February 01, 2016

In the Crazy Horse Session, international teams put themselves at the mercy of the clock and take on the challenge of producing an animated short film about the ITFS mascot, Trixi, in just 48 hours. In ccoperation with M.A.R.K. 13 electronic media, MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg and Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg.
