It is not easy working in animation and never has been, regardless of whether you are self-employed or employed, whether you work artistically or commercially. There are hurdles everywhere, on both a small and large scale. And this is the same in Germany as in other countries. When the international association ASIFA was founded in 1961, the exchange between East and West was an important topic. When AG Animationsfilm was founded in Germany at the end of 2011, the aim was to give animation visibility at last. On the panel, we will therefore be talking to animation people from international associations about their motivation, the role of the associations and why it might be worth getting involved after all.
